Terminal Engineering Manager

Our client prominiant in the oil & gas industry is looking for a terminal engineering manager to join their team on a permanant basis.
The desired candidate , must be keen, diverse and have a fantastic work ethic.
The ideal candidate will have process operation , engingeering and safety awareness experience.
 
Principal Responsibilities
• Manage all maintenance, electrical and engineering staff at terminals, including both direct line management and dotted-line reporting as appropriate.
• Oversee design, cost, construction, modification and commission of facility enhancements or changes at the terminals to improve customer service, safety of personnel, operational/engineering processes and equipment efficiency.
• Plan, design, manage, commission and maintain development projects/major overhauls as determined by the business.
• Be responsible for maintaining operation of all Control Systems specific to the Terminal.
• Ensure that all terminal plant and equipment is inspected in line with latest recognised legislation and standards as applicable and notify the Head Of Terminals and Competent Authorities of any non-conformances against legislation or regulations, such as LOLER/PSSR Regulation notifications.
• Responsible for the introduction, development and maintenance of a Computerised Maintenance Management System for the terminals, including all related procedures and systems.
• Determine the correct intervals for maintenance, inspection and testing of all assets at the terminals. Apply Risk Based Assessment (RBI) where appropriate to maximise efficiency of asset life.
• Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in the terminals and other group functions in order to maximise the effectiveness of technical developments to improve terminals performance
• To communicate effectively with all personnel to ensure that all engineering activities allow safe, efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the terminals’ activities.
• Overall responsibility for all maintenance of plant and equipment at the terminals.
• To establish critical and minimum levels of spares for breakdown purposes with special regard to major accident hazard safety critical plant/systems.
• Responsible for all engineering and maintenance related aspects of the management of Major Accident Hazards at the terminals in accordance with COMAH guidelines.
• When required, work with the Head Of Terminals and Directors on projects such as acquisitions or developments at third party terminals.
• Support engineering activities in other aspects of the business such as management of contractors, audits, gap analysis & projects at third party sites.
• Responsible for setting and managing budgets in respect to engineering and maintenance activities at all terminals
 
 
Qualifications/Experience Required:
• At least 5 years’ Process Engineering experience.
• At least 5 years’ Oil & Gas (Preferably downstream) experience.
• Experience of Managing Projects from concept through to completion, providing cost vs benefit analysis & demonstrating budget control
• Experience managing maintenance / project engineering budgets
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (Preferably Mechanical / Chemical Engineering).
• Educated in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Professional membership of an accredited Management Institute or recognised body.
• Understanding of the high hazard process industry and knowledge of COMAH Regulations preferred.
• Qualified to provide and assess training.
• Understanding of Process Safety.

• Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel
• Attention to detail
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent report witting skills and document management experience
