Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a busy and growing construction business which has vacancy for a senior quantity surveyor to work on residential and commercial development projects.

It is a dynamic diverse organisation, with various arms including property letting, student and domestic housing renovations, specialist emergency housing and a growing range of work from the public sector.The quantity surveying activities span across all these areas and entail some travel to client sites.

Main duties of the job

·Estimating costs from drawings and client discussions

·Prepare tender documentation

·Planning and managing project prelims

·Overseeing and managing project work

·Preparation of all contract documents

·Ensuring adherence to completion dates

·Management of new projects, small to large in value, from inception

·Audit commercial processes, taking appropriate action

·Audit cash flow forecasts

·Carry out valuations throughout project cycles

Experience and skills required

·Strong cost estimating/quantity surveying experience

·Experience in domestic and/or commercial projects

·Effective working within a team environment and managing a small team

·Experience of small and large-scale projects

·Experience of new build and refurbishment

·Ability to handle multiple projects at a given time

·Knowledge of financial reporting

·Hold a BCs Quantity Surveying degree

·Preferably qualified to RICS accreditation

·Have at least 5 years experience with strong construction knowledge
