Role:

The Engineers role is rewarding & challenging, diverse, and varied with plenty of scope for further development. The Engineers need to be problem solvers, capable of applying standardised and structured engineering principles to real situations, through our new world technologies.

Engineers provide a wide range of technical support to the companies project and data factory teams. They may be assigned to a specific project; in which case they will provide guidance on the management and flow of engineering information across the entire project scope. Alternatively, they may support specific teams within the data factory by providing technical support and answering technical queries.

Engineers will be required to support QA activities by reviewing a wide range of engineering information and reporting back on any anomalies and discrepancies. They are also required to support Project Managers by liaising directly with clients, attending meetings and answering client technical queries.

A key skill associated with the role is the ability to review and analyse engineering data, documents and drawings to provide guidance on the processing of this information, in accordance with the companies guiding principles for information management.

Key results/Responsibilities:

·It is essential that engineers fully understand the different types of engineering information used on Brownfield and Greenfield projects as they will be required to advise and coach staff on the management of this information.

·Engineers need to understand the flow of engineering data and also relate this to how the information is managed within the company

·Engineers are required to provide technical support in their specific discipline particularly in relation to equipment and related data and documents.

·Engineers needs to be able to understand the various types of information submitted by EPC’s & OEM’s and how this information can be utilised and processed within the company

·Engineers’ needs to be able to review engineering documents and identify the relevant information required to support a project.

·Engineers must be conversant with Engineering Data, Documents and Drawings and preferably have an understanding of Plant Maintenance.

·Understanding of Engineering Industry Standards and best practice

Key Challenges Faced in the Role:

·Understanding the companies tools & techniques for managing information

·Understanding the full scope of the project and relating this to their specific sub-project and/or area of responsibility.

·Supervising other team members and providing technical support.

·Adapting to an office-based engineering advisory role which deals almost exclusively with managing engineering data and documents and does not involve any hands-on engineering design, maintenance etc.

Any Other Relevant Information:

·Formal discipline and engineering qualifications – essential with a minimum of 10-years’ experience

·Combined engineering knowledge & experience within the Oil, Gas Petrochemical and Process Sectors essential

·Some roles may require travel, depending on the specific project and/or team requirements.

·Management of suppliers, vendors and OEM’s

·Knowledge of hazardous area requirements and related data and inspections

Key Skills:

·Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

·Familiarity and exposure to CMMS systems an advantage (SAP, Maximo etc.)
