Meet the Team
Managing Director & Business Owner
Jo has 30 years’ experience in the recruitment sector, with her roles starting at Consultant level and working up to Senior Management. On top of this, Jo also has 13 years’ experience as a Business Owner and Managing Director in recruitment business. In 2013, Jo won the Susan Dobson North East Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award, for her business Jo Hand Recruitment. Jo rebranded and started the Human Group in 2017- a developing force in the recruitment sector, which has customers across the UK and is fresh from winning a national contract to provide clerical and domestic staff to NHS hospitals.
Marion has 45 years’ experience working in the Accountancy sector, with duties including book-keeping, weekly/monthly wages and banking. Marion prides herself in only having 5 jobs in her 45-year working history, staying loyal to all the companies she has worked at. Her experiences range from manual book-keeping and double entry accounts balancing to using the current computer systems. In 2017, the company Marion worked for closed due to retirement, so Marion put her CV out there. Very soon after Jo contacted her for an interview and in March 2017, Marion started at the Human Group as Finance Manager.
Recruitment and Resource Manager
Nicola worked in the Travel industry for 10 years, working her way up to Branch Manager. She then moved into Recruitment for 2 years, working for our MD Jo at the previous company, Jo Hand Recruitment. Nicola then started working in Welfare to Work where she worked for 9 years, and in late 2018, Nicola joined the Human Group as Recruitment Manager. Nicola’s qualifications include NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Travel and Tourism and Customer Services and a Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance.
Claire worked in Recruitment for 4 years, before starting work in the Welfare to Work sector for 12 years. Here, Claire started as a Job Coach and progressed to an Employment Advisor then to Senior Employment Advisor. She has recently returned to Recruitment in March this year, joining the Human Group as a Recruitment Consultant. Claire has gained various qualifications over the years, including NVQ Level 3’s in Information, Advice and Guidance, Customer Service and Management.
Business Development Manager
Eileen worked in Business Development roles for over 20 years, progressing from Office Junior to Business Development Executive. Some of her roles included training and developing new starts, cold-calling, managing Director’s diaries, booking appointments and performance managing staff. Eileen joined the Human Group mid-2019 as Business Development Manager, where she works on behalf of the MD, booking appointments, converting new accounts and contacting clients.
Trainee Recruitment Consultant & Business Admin Apprentice
Sophie is educated to A-Level with qualifications in both Law and Psychology. After considering University, Sophie decided on a change in direction and started a Business Admin Apprenticeship with the Human Group. From March this year, Sophie took on the role of Trainee Recruitment Consultant, which has allowed her to get involved with the Recruitment on a day to day basis.
